Ageless Kano Pillars deadly striker rose highest to nod home the opener from Musa Ahmed’s delivery in the 72nd minute, it was a goal that broke the deadlock to set the home fans into massive jubilation after a goalless first half.
Rabiu Ali doubled Pillars lead from the penalty spot to guarantee maximum points, after the man who assisted the first goal was hacked down in the box by Abia Warriors defender Fatai Abdullahi.
Speaking to npfl the striker said it is very important to be involved for his club because that is the only way he can showcase his qualities and make a good statement of himself after being shut out of the first-team owing to injuries and the impressive form of other strikers.
“First of all I want to thank our technical crew for finding me worthy to be part of the starting line-up, this is my third full appearance since the inception of the current league season. Thank God I made a mark by scoring a very vital goal and most importantly we won the game.

It became a noisy atmosphere as the vociferous fan base at the Kano Pillars Stadium chanted ‘sai baban attacker’ (meaning the big striker) immediately after the goal by Gambo.
