In a touching display of admiration, Neslihan Demir, a devoted Galatasaray supporter and farmer from Yeşilhisar, Kayseri, has handcrafted a knitted doll resembling Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
Demir, a mother of four, spent eight days creating the doll using the amigurumi technique and wishes to present it to Osimhen as a championship gift, stating, “I want to personally give this doll to Osimhen as a token of appreciation for his efforts in our championship.”
Demir’s gesture is part of a broader fan-driven initiative to retain Osimhen at Galatasaray.
The striker, on loan from Napoli, has delivered an exceptional season with 35 goals in 39 matches, setting a new record for the most goals scored by a foreign player in a single season in Turkey.
Recognizing Osimhen’s impact, Galatasaray’s management, led by Abdullah Kavukcu, has secured €66 million through sponsorships to facilitate his permanent transfer.
Fans have also expressed willingness to contribute financially, with some proposing crowdfunding efforts to meet the €75 million valuation set by Napoli.
Demir’s heartfelt gift and the collective efforts of Galatasaray supporters underscore the profound connection between the club’s fans and Osimhen, highlighting a shared desire to see him continue his journey with the team.
