Gabe’s Game Winners Sends Vanung To Top 3 In Taiwan’s UBA Div 1

Vanung University ends their second round in the UBA Div 1 with a 68-66 victory over NSTU with Nigerian Born Humphery “Gabe” Gabriel hitting the last second jumper to give his Side the win and ensure their place in the last 8.

It was a match Coach Bamsim wards knew they must win to improve their ranking having won 2 and lost 1 in the series to take their Season tally to 7-3.

Vanung had lost 71-56 on Saturday against NKNU to end their 7 games winning Streak and Coach Bamsim started his regulars against NTSU on Sunday.

Gabe’s Vanung started on fire to open a 14-7 lead but NTSU fired back and ended the first Quarter with only 3 points deficit. 18-15.
The second Quarter was neck in neck with only 2 points separating both sides in that quarter. Vanung took the lead 35-30 to end the Half.

Coach Bamsim couldn’t rest his Talisman like he did in the previous match that saw Vanung slump so Gabe was left on the court for 37 minutes and the Talisman took the game on despite NTSU resilience.

With the score tied at 63-62 Ye Zi Wei hit a three pointer to give give Vanung a 3 point Advantage to 66-62 with just 57 seconds on the clock.

NSTU fought back and Chen Lisheng hit a 3 point of his and drew a foul on Jay West to level it again at 66-66 with just 27 seconds left.

With possession for Vanung Coach Bamsim called for a time out and whatever he may have told his boys, it was obvious the instruction was to get the ball to Humphery Gabriel after the re start.

Li Gao Wei Lin got the ball to Jay West, who ordinarily would have attempted a 3 pointer but the American found Gabe in open space just at the free throw line and the Nigeria sent a catch and throw with hit the rim and bounced back to him, he caught caught rebound and sent a finger roll Jumper into the basket to give Vanung a 2 point lead with just 0.3 Seconds left.
