FWC Champions FC inaugurates LOC of Secondary School Football Tournament, sets target

The management of FWC Champions FC inaugurated the Local Organising Committee for the maiden edition of Secondary School football Tournament in the FCT on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.

The Tournament, with a kickoff date of October, 1, has an 8-man committee that have been entrusted with the responsibility of making it a desired success.

The 8-member Local Organising Committee has Mr. Promise Uwaeme as chairman while Timothy Aiyeku will serve as secretary.

The full members are as follows Mr. Promise Uwaeme – Chairman; Mr Timothy Aiyeku – Secretary; Mr. Olayinka Oladunjuoye – Member; Mr. George Momoh – Member; Mrs. Odiri Akpan – Member and Representatives of FCT Senior Secondary School Board, FCT Senior Secondary School Board and Representative of FCT Football Association.

Chairman of the Champions Who Care, Pastor Yakubu Yola who gave an opening remark at the inauguration that was held at the Conference Room of the Family Worship Centre Church office, charged the Committee to be diligentt to ensure the maiden edition records huge success.

According to him, the vision of the club includes affecting the lives of young ones and to serve as a bridge between the young talents and their dreams, in tandem to the mandate that has been given to the club.

His words “We have passion for the youths and we have come to understand that one of the things we need to do for youths is to help them leverage on their talents that God has given them. And one of the talents God has given the youths is sport particularly football.

“Football has become answer to a lot of youthful problems we have faced in our society today. It has been the remedy for a lot of youths that have lost direction. Therefore, we have realised the increasing need and how fitting it has become to help the youths to harness their God-given talents so that they can be useful to the society.

“And it is on this basis that the committee m that their work is enormous and requires diligence to perform. But be rest assured of our maximum support.

Meanwhile, a total of 57 senior secondary schools have registered to participate in the competition.
