The Flying Eagles of Nigeria were forced to settle for a goalless draw against Morocco in their second Group B match at the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Cairo.
The much-anticipated encounter failed to live up to expectations, with both sides delivering a cautious and uninspiring performance that ended in a stalemate.
Heading into the match full of confidence after a 1-0 win over Tunisia in their opener, Nigeria struggled to break down a resolute Moroccan team, who had earlier edged Kenya 3-2 in their first match.
Despite flashes of individual brilliance, chances were few and far between for the Flying Eagles, and the game ended without either side truly threatening to score.
Meanwhile, Tunisia bounced back in style earlier in the day, defeating Kenya 3-1 to revive their qualification hopes. The result has now set up a tense final round of group matches.
Nigeria will face Kenya in their last group game, knowing a win will be crucial to secure a spot in the knockout stage. With all to play for, the Flying Eagles must rediscover their sharpness in front of goal and finish the group stage strongly.
