Fulham Nearing Deal For Everton’s Alex Iwobi As Deadline Looms

Fulham is closing in on a deal to secure Everton’s star player, Alex Iwobi, as the transfer deadline draws near.

The Cottagers have successfully negotiated personal terms with the 27-year-old midfielder, who has been part of Everton since 2019.

Iwobi, a former Arsenal player, is expected to formalize his move to Fulham before the transfer window closes.

So far this season, he has made two appearances for Sean Dyche’s Everton side, missing out on the third Premier League game and a Carabao Cup fixture due to a hamstring injury.

With Iwobi’s contract at Everton entering its final year, the club is willing to facilitate his departure. During his time with the Toffees, Iwobi has made 140 appearances, contributing nine goals and 15 assists.

Despite his significant role in Dyche’s team, the arrivals of Arnaut Danjuma and Jack Harrison seem to have created an opportunity for Iwobi to make his exit.

Fulham, on the other hand, is actively seeking to strengthen its attacking lineup, particularly following the £46 million transfer of striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal earlier in the summer.

In a parallel development, German champions Bayern Munich have shown strong interest in Fulham’s star defensive midfielder, Joao Palhinha.

Fulham has set an asking price of £80 million for the Portuguese international, signaling their intent to retain him before the transfer window closes.
