Frank Onyeka Wants To Score Goals For Super Eagles At AFCON 2025

Brentford of England midfielder, Frank Onyeka has confessed that he is eager to score goals for the Super Eagles at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Sports247 reports the Onyeka is still relishing memories of his goals during the World Cup qualifiers and is now looking at his prospects of adding more at AFCON 2025.

The product of FC Ebedie of Sagamu and former FC Midtjylland of Denmark battler, who was on loan at Augsburg of Germany last season, is now back into the mainframe at Brentford.

He admitted that the days he spent in Germany were a learning curves for him, which he hopes would boost his chances of regular playing time at Brentford when he returns from the Cup of Nations.

Onyeka revealed further that his best way of preparing himself for important games is to spend some quiet time all by himself, and use the opportunity to meditate deeply.

“If you’re stressed, you just try to be calm and relaxed as much as possible. I try to do that every day, but most times I do it before games, just to prepare myself.

“I do it in my room before I go to the stadium and after the first half I try to do a bit. I just focus on my breathing to make sure that I feel settled.” Onyeka disclosed.

He, however, admitted that scoring goals has not been part of his game at club level, and cherished how he hit target twice for the Super Eagles during the ill-fated World Cup qualifiers.

After failing to score in 34 games for Augsburg across all competitions, Onyeka wants to change the narration at AFCON 2025, as he aims to repeat the feats he achieved against Benin Republic and DR Congo.

“I’ve been looking to get goals into my profile. In my time in Augsburg (it was) something that I discussed a lot. I always want to go forward; I want to score goals.” Onyeka submitted.
