A former chairman of Lagos State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (Lagos SWAN), Honourable Frank Ilaboya is being flooded with a swarm of congralatory messages after his latest recognition by the government of Edo State.
Sports247 reports that Ilaboya, who is also a former local government chairman in Edo State, has been appointed as special adviser to Governor Monday Okphebolo on grassroots sports mobilisation, much to delight of his associates, contemporaries, well wishers and stakeholders.
Leading the rain of accolades on the owner of Sportsville Media Limited are the chairman of Edo State Sports Commission, Honourable Amadin Desmond Enabulele as well as the commissioner for information and strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua, who both hailed Ilaboya’s latest appointment as well deserved.
Enabulele and Afegbua also noted specifically in their respective congralatory messages that Governor Okphebolo made the right choice in appointing Ilaboya to oversee grassroots sports mobilization in Edo State.
While acknowledging Ilaboya’s contributions during his time as the executive director for Edo North in the state’s sports commission, Enabulele desclared: “He is leaving an indelible mark of achievements behind.
“I can attest to his contributions towards developing sports in the state. This appointment by His Excellency is another great opportunity to tap more from his vast knowledge of grassroots sports.”
In the same vein, Afegbua added that the appointment is fitting because Ilaboya has been in sports all his years, and posited: “I can’t think of five to ten Edo persons in sports development without the name of Ilaboya coming up. This is a good decision by His Excellency.”
Sports247 gathered further that many journalists, fans, social figures and esteemed personalities also joined all through the hours of Saturday in showering accolades on Ilaboya, who is also the brain behind high profile annual awards bestowed on achievers in the sector.
