Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho produced a solid display between the posts as AC Omonia Nicosia secured a comfortable 2–0 victory over Omonia Aradippou in the Cypriot league.
The Nigerian shot-stopper played an important role in maintaining a clean sheet as Omonia controlled the contest and claimed all three points in front of their opponent supporters.
Omonia Nicosia took the lead in the 18th minute through Mateo Marić, who finished confidently to give the visitors an early advantage. The away side doubled their lead just ten minutes later when Panagiotis Andreou found the back of the net to put the result firmly in their control.
Despite the early goals, Uzoho remained alert throughout the match, organizing his defence well and dealing comfortably with the few attacking threats posed by the visitors. His calm presence and command of the penalty area helped Omonia maintain their defensive discipline and see out the match without conceding.
The victory further strengthens Omonia Nicosia’s position at the top of the league standings. Following the win, the club sits comfortably at the summit with 58 points, holding an eight-point lead over their closest challengers as they continue their push for the title.
For Uzoho, the clean sheet adds to his growing list of consistent performances this season, underlining his importance to the team’s defensive stability.
As the campaign progresses toward its decisive stages, Omonia Nicosia will be counting on the Nigerian goalkeeper’s experience and reliability as they aim to maintain their advantage in the title race.
