‘i am feeling better. I can kick ball now unlike before. I am 6 months gone in my 8 months recovery period, I just need to work on my strength and in 2 months , I will be back fully’.

Narrating how he felt before the injury, the Spain based goal keeper said ‘i was enjoying myself, our attack was so good, I didn’t have anything to do for a while. Then it came, I had to deal with it, I knew I would be out for a long time which the doctor affirmed after the surgery that it would be between 7 to 8 months’.

The 2013 U-17 World Cup winner picked former Super Eagles goalie, Vincent Enyeama as his inspiration.
‘Vincent inspires me. The AFCON game against Tunisia in 2004 where he saved penalties inspired me. So when I decided to be a GK, his clips come to my head and I try to imitate him. Manuel Neuer, David De Gea and Jan Oblak also inspire me’.

Francis Uzoho had been the starting goal keeper for the Super Eagles since making his debut against Argentina in 2017 till he got injured in October 2019
