Four Wins, Two Draws and Thirteen Goals Recorded in 2022 Peace Cup Opening Day

As part of efforts to develop grassroots football, the second ever edition of the Peace Cup commenced yesterday as six matches were decided on the opening day of the 16 teams football tournament.

Four wins, two draws and a combined goals of thirteen were recorded in the Matchday 1 fixtures which took place at the Lemmy Field, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos on Sunday, 3rd of July, 2022.

JACOBSON defeated NAZAL 2-1 in the first game of the opening day, PEDRO ALL STAR pipped ATM LAGOS by a lone goal in the follow up match while CROWN STAR held FUTURE HERO FA to a goalless draw in the third match of the opening day.

Meanwhile, CESC thrashed GREATER VISION 2-0 in the fourth game, thereafter, OKI UNITED got a narrow 1-0 victory against BMFFHG FC while the last match of opening day ended in a six-goal as AKINOLA ALL STAR and UNICK FC played a 3-3 draw.

Peace Cup is an annual football tournament created to develop football at the grassroots and also generate an avenue to give back to the local communities at the same time.
