It was a dramatic finish in the U20 men’s 100m final at the MTN CHAMPS as Liberty Okon stunned his former teammate Alvin Onyeama to claim his first-ever MTN CHAMPS title.

Representing Akwa Ibom State, Okon delivered a brilliant run in a tightly contested race, powering through the line to win gold in 10.85s, just 0.01 seconds ahead of Onyeama, who settled for silver in 10.86s.

Gowon Oghenerunor completed the podium, finishing third with a time of 10.90s in what was one of the most exciting sprint finals of the meet.

The race lived up to its billing, as the former teammates went head-to-head in a thrilling dash to the line, with Okon emerging victorious in a photo-finish moment that crowned him the new U20 100m champion.
