Former MFM Super Striker Stephen Odey Leaves Randers After Five Seasons

Randers FC have officially announced the departure of Nigerian forward and former MFM FC star, Stephen Odey, bringing an end to his four-and-a-half-year spell with the Danish Superliga side.

The club confirmed in a statement on its official website that the Super Eagles striker will exit when his contract expires at the end of December.

Odey first arrived at Randers in the 2021/2022 campaign on a loan deal that included an option to buy. His impressive performances—particularly in the autumn of 2021—convinced the East Jutland outfit to sign him permanently.

That breakthrough run included six goals across the league, Europa Conference League and domestic cup, earning him the 3F Superliga Player of the Month award for October 2021.

Across his stay with Randers, the 26-year-old delivered consistency and work rate in attack, scoring 28 goals in 129 appearances. He also earned praise for his influence beyond the pitch, with the club highlighting his energy and positivity in the dressing room.

Reflecting on his exit, Odey expressed deep appreciation for the club and its supporters.

“I have really enjoyed my time here in Randers. It has been a fantastic period with fantastic people at the club — from the staff and management to the players and fans,” he said.

“I have been here for many years, through both good and bad times, and I will really miss the club — but that is life in football.

I wish the team all the best for the rest of the season.”

Before moving to Europe, Odey made his name at Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM FC) in the NPFL, later featuring for FC Zürich, Racing Genk, and Amiens SC.

His next destination is yet to be announced.
