Football community celebrates Dapo Ajibade@ 50

The Nigerian football community stood literally still for iconic football administrator and promoter, Prince Dapo Ajibade as he celebrated his 50th birthday anniversary.

The glamorous event which held Tuesday at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos, had several top football administrators and stakeholders from different parts from within and outside Nigeria in attendance.

The roll call of distinguished sports personalities and captains of industry included former Executive Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Segun Mimiko, Hon. Toyin Bolowotan Gafar, Director-General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Mallam Abdulrazak Usman, Technical Director of Kanu International Football Academy, Hon. Bukola Olopade, CEO of Nilayo Sports Management Company, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi,1st Vice-president of NFF and Lagos FA chairman, Femi Solanke, President of Olumo United FC, as well as representatives from the Ooni of Ife, and many others.

Speaking on the celebrant, Dr. Mimiko described him as a very creative and highly resourceful football administrator who contributed a lot to the development of football in Ondo State during his time in the state.

Hon. Bukola Olopade was effusive in praises for Dapo Ajibade. In his words, he said Ajibade is a man of inestimable values to the development of Nigerian football.

On his part, Barrister Akinwunmi recalled with fond nostalgia the many battles he had with Ajibade, which he said was ostensibly aimed at the betterment of Nigerian football.

Prince Dapo Ajibade, who is presently the Director-General of Africa’s largest and fastest-growing football academy, Kanu International Football Academy (KIFA), thanked all the invited guests for honouring him with their presence.

In an emotion laden tone, he promised to redouble his efforts at the services of Nigerian football and humanity in general. He was particularly grateful to God for keeping him and his family safe and alive. Adding that he would henceforth rededicate his life and times to the services of humanity.
