Football: ‘China Tour Will Shape Our Future’ — Golden Eaglets Coach Uwejamomere Unveils Big Plans

Newly appointed Golden Eaglets head coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere has revealed that preparations are already in full swing for Nigeria’s tour of China, describing the trip as a crucial part of the team’s build-up to the WAFU-B U-17 Championship in Burkina Faso.

The former youth coach said the technical crew has wasted no time in assembling the squad following his appointment.

“Our preparations have already started, and the China tour will be very important for this team,” Uwejamomere said.

The Golden Eaglets have already held several training sessions and played their first friendly match as the coaching crew begins evaluating players ahead of the regional tournament.

Uwejamomere disclosed that a number of players currently in camp graduated from the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS) U-15 programme, which has become a major pathway for identifying young talents across the country.

“Some of the players are from the FIFA Talent Development Scheme, and they’ve shown good qualities so far,” he added.

The coach, however, revealed that the current squad is far from final, with plans already in place to strengthen the team after the trip to China.

According to him, several new players will be invited to compete for places before the WAFU-B Championship begins.

“We’ll introduce more new faces after the China tour as we continue building a competitive squad,” he stated.

Nigeria will use the China training tour to fine-tune tactics, assess emerging talents and build team chemistry as the Golden Eaglets target qualification for the next U-17 Africa Cup of Nations through the WAFU-B Championship.
