Folarin Balogun’s 2026 World Cup Form Could Fetch Him €50m Transfer Exit From Monaco Of France

A stunning piece of news out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup indicates that one of the three co-hosts, USA’s Nigerian-born striker, Folarin Balogun is set to reap a €50m transfer exit from AS Monaco of France – due to his stunning form at the Mundial.

Sports247 reports that, although Balogun could not score in Team USA’s second game of the ongoing global showpiece, he had done enough in their opening game with a brace that set tongues wagging and has now given him favourable transfer interest.

With his performance against Paraguay still fresh in mind, the 24-year-old striker, who remains a focal point in for Mauricio Pochettino’s US men’s national team (USMNT), has been tipped to leave Monaco, where he has scored 31 goals in 91 appearances overall.

The potential deal has already started hogging various comments on social media, where Balogun’s long-term contract with Monaco, which runs until 2028, has been cited but may not pose any obstacle to offers coming from the English Premier League.

However, it was also gathered that no official approach has been made by any club in England or across Europe for Balogun, who learnt the ropes of football in Arsenal’s Hale End Academy before leaving in 2023, due to a lack of senior game time.

A post on X by David Ornstein revealed, “Folarin Balogun is expected to leave Monaco this summer. Contract 2028, but no talks over new deal + striker favours move. Interest from PL & Europe building amid #FIFAWorldCup form; anticipated #ASMonaco will seek ~€50m to sell #USMNT star.”

Popular publication, The Athletic adds, “The striker is under contract at Monaco until 2028 and it will take an offer of around €50m for the club to consider a sale. It’s understood that there are several Premier League sides interested in bringing the impressive striker back to England, though there is nothing concrete just yet.”
