AS Monaco of France striker, Folarin Balogun has received a massive boost that more or less guarantee’s him a spot in Team USA’s squad, as they prepare to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Canada and Mexico.
Sports247 reports that marked improvements for Balogun in front of goal with his French Ligue 1 club have extended into top performances with the United States of America’s squad.

USA’s gaffer, Mauricio Pochettino has now spoken in glowing terms about Balogun, while also recounting how the Nigerian-born former Arsenal of England attacker twinkled during their last international outing.
It was a friendly against Paraguay, who the USMNT will also face in the World Cup group stage and, though Balogun had just 15 touches in the game, his effort put them ahead in the 71st minute and gave them a 2-1 win.
Pochettino said about Balogun’s performance in the match, “I think it’s a massive lesson for him and the players to play against this Paraguayan team in this type of game. He was decisive.
“He scored the winning goal. At the World Cup, that’s what you need to do. To me, it was fantastic, because it wasn’t easy to fight against the Paraguayan defence, and they’re a very good team.”
