A 2-2 draw that Nigeria’s youth national team, Flying Eagles played with Kenya on Wednesday at the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations left many of their compatriots writing off their side, but former Dolphins of Port Harcourt defender, Kennedy Chinwo believes the squad can still bring something home.
Rather than join in writing off Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s side at the ongoing championship in Egypt, Chinwo predicted that they will do better in their next game and go all the way to the final.

Sports247 reports that Chinwo’s words come in contrast with shaky form that was seen from the Flying Eagles in all their three group matches, as Zubairu’s team struggled to beat Tunisia 1-0 and then drew goalless with log leaders, Morocco, before toiling to Wednesday’s setback with Kenya.
After ending as runners-up in Group B, the Flying Eagles will now move out of Cairo to Ismailia for Saturday’s first quarter-final match of the competition, which also serves as Africa’s qualifier for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile, and Kennedy Chinwo insists they will get there.
“I know they will get out something. Sometimes, the starting may not be fine but, with time, as they are going through the tournament, they will be improving and finish up well.
“I know they will bring out something because the name of Nigeria that they carry is still something to speak about,” Chinwo theorised.
