Flying Eagles Must Go All Out In Order To Defeat South Africa – Manu Garba

Nigeria’s gold medal-winning coach at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup in United Arab Emirates, Manu Garba has joined the large array of soccer buffs who are giving success tips to the Flying Eagles, as he says the youth national team must go all out in order to defeat South Africa on Thursday.

Sports247 reports that Nigeria will from 4pm this Thursday lock horns with South Africa in the first semi-final of this year’s African U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt, and Garba, who played at the 1983 FIFA U20 World Cup in Mexico, stressed that only all-out attack will bring victory at Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia.

He praised the squad for qualifying for the Youth Mundial after Monday’s victory over Senegal and reckoned that haven defeated the defending champions means Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s side should start thinking like champions.

He then enjoined the Flying Eagles to put in everything they have in order to take over the trophy from the Francophone West Africans and to consolidate on their qualification for the World Cup.

Garba theorised, “Every Nigerian should be proud of this team and, since they’ve defeated the defending champions, that’s talking about Senegal, they should also become champions.”

Manu Garba then turned his attention on Thursday’s match and reckoned that it would be easier for the Flying Eagles to defeat the South Africans, but quickly chipped in that the opponents must not be underrated by Zubairu’s wards.

He expatiated, “I think it’s more difficult to beat a West African country than a team from Southern Africa; but the Flying Eagles must not underrate anyone.

They should just go all out as they did against Senegal.

“If they do that, I believe they will beat South Africa and get to the final. I am optimistic that the Flying Eagles will come out victorious against South Africa,” the former Wikki Tourist FC of Bauchi coach enthused.
