A former star in the Nigerian league, Taiwo Oloyede has charged the country’s youth national team, Flying Eagles’ coach, Aliyu Zubairu to hunt around for better strikers if he wants to win this year’s FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.
Sports247 reports that, with the Youth Mundial set to kick-off on September 27th in the Chilean capital, Santiago, Oloyede is of a view that only the addition of better finishers in Zubairu’s attack would make him stand tall as the competition’s newest champion after the final on Octover 19th.

Oloyede, who played some matches for the youth national team during his heyday, after shining with two Lagos-based clubs, Stationery Stores and Julius Berger FC, said he was not disappointed seeing Zubairu’s squad finish third at the recent Africa U20 Cup of Nations but pointed at crucial lessons that must be learnt from that outing.
The soft-spoken former midfilder further pointed out that the team’s inability to win the U20 AFCON in Egypt showed that there is also a pressing need for Zubairu and members of his technical crew to beef up the squad generally.
“I am not disappointed with the team, but I want them to do better. All that the coaches need to do is beef up the team in the departments that they have not been doing well. I believe, with what I watched, that the strikers were not up to our requirements.
“So, they just need to look for more strikers. They should also include some news players into the team from defence to attack. That will help them to move forward in the forthcoming competition,” opined Oloyode, who is fondly called ‘Skippo’ by his close associates.
