Former youth international, Festus Odini, has thrown his support behind Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, expressing confidence in the team’s potential following their qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup at the ongoing CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Odini, who once wore the green and white jersey at youth level, believes the team has already achieved a major milestone by securing a World Cup ticket. He noted that with the right mentality and discipline, the Flying Eagles can go even further.

While the team narrowly missed out on a place in the final after a 1-0 loss to South Africa, Odini urged the players to remain focused and use the upcoming third-place match against Egypt as an opportunity to end the tournament on a high.
“Discipline and focus will be crucial going forward. If they stay mentally strong and organized, there’s no limit to what they can achieve — both now and at the World Cup,” he added.
As Nigeria prepares for their final AFCON outing on Sunday, the words of encouragement from ex-players like Odini serve as a timely morale booster, reminding the Flying Eagles of the legacy they’re building for themselves and the country.
