Nigeria’s female national cadet team, Flamingos’ coach, Bankole Olowookere has disclosed that he and his players will approach this year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco with motivation, faith and hard work.
Sports247 gathered that Olowookere is happy that the female global cadet competition will take place in Morocco, where Nigeria’s senior squad, Super Falcons, recently won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

He enthused that his spiritual depth has made him believe that Morocco has become the land of success for Nigeria’s football teams, and the Flamingos’ case will not be different.
The amiable gaffer pointed out, “After our seniors achieved that much, I call Morocco the land of blessing for Nigeria in the year 2025.
“I’m a bit spiritual about my football, so I believe this is our time. If anybody has done something good, you have to follow that step.”
He affirmed that the Flamingos have been motivated by watching the Falcons excel in Morocco, hence his conviction that his players will also go all out to win the forthcoming global championship from which his first squad won bronze in 2022.
Olowookere continued, “I’ve watched their clips keenly, and I’ve seen some things they did that I will be able to put into my own programme so that we too can get something better this year.
“The land of Morocco this year is for Nigeria. That’s why I’m saying, by the grace of God and as God liveth, this year is also the Flamingos’ time.”
He concluded by assuring that he and his players will not go to The Atlas Nation on the strength of motivation and faith alone, as they will all put in enough hard work to ensure they emerge as champions after the final on November 8th.
“We are going there to achieve. It’s a land of blessing that the Lord has given us; but it’s not just that we’ll walk by faith alone.
“We are going to work towards it. The players will work hard, and all of us will work hard to achieve this World Cup for Nigeria,” Olowookere promised.
Sports247 gathered that Nigeria’s first match at the competition will be against Canada on October 17th, after which they will tango France on October 22nd in their second group match and then face Samoa on October 25th in the third fixture.
