Flamingos Visit Orphanage Before Departing for FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco

Nigeria’s U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, made a heartwarming stop at Nana Berry Orphanage & Children’s Home Nasarawa state before departing for the FIFA U17 Women World Cup in Morrocco.

The Flamingos made the visit at Orphange located at Nyanya, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, as part of their final engagements before facing the rest of the world in Morocco 2025.

Led by team captain Shakirat Moshood, a few selected players and officials took time to share gifts, words of encouragement, and affection with the children, creating an atmosphere of joy and inspiration.

The visit was aimed at showing compassion and giving back to the community, values that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) continues to uphold in its youth development programmes.

The Flamingos held their final training session on Tuesday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, focusing on physical conditioning, tactical adjustments, and recovery routines to ensure optimal readiness for the global showpiece.

The Flamingos are scheduled to depart Nigeria early Wednesday morning aboard Royal Air Maroc, with a stopover in Casablanca before arriving in Rabat later in the day.

The team is expected to settle quickly into camp and acclimatize ahead of their opening group match.

Nigeria, drawn in Group D alongside France, Canada and Samoa.

The group is a challenging but promising path in their quest for glory.

The group has been described by many analysts as one of the toughest, featuring the French s flair, Canada’s tactical discipline, and Samoa, a team packed with unknown possibilities.
