“The Flamingos have landed! Yes, our World Cup journey has come to an end, but certainly not the end of our growth. The lessons learned will fuel our drive to return stronger and better in the next edition,” Koki stated in an update shared on Friday morning.
The Flamingos represented Nigeria with pride and resilience throughout the tournament, showcasing determination and teamwork despite their campaign coming to an early end.
The experience, according to team officials, will be crucial in shaping the next generation of female football stars in the country.
Before their departure from Morocco, the players and officials had a memorable day out in Rabat on Thursday, where they visited several historical and cultural landmarks, including the King’s Palace and the mausoleum of the late King Mohammed V.
The excursion offered the young players a chance to unwind and reflect on their experiences both on and off the pitch.
The team departed their hotel for the airport by 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, ahead of their scheduled 5:00 a.m. flight to Abuja.
As the Flamingos settle back home, officials have promised continued updates on the team’s activities and post-tournament plans. For now, it’s a well-deserved rest and reflection period for Nigeria’s promising young stars.
