Flag Football Showtime Summer Series 2025: LA Knights’ Audu Salamat Rates Team Low In 23-8 Spanking Of Raptors

A promising lass in the rampaging squad of LA Knights flag football team, Audu Salamat Favour has rated her side low, despite their massive 23-8 spanking of Raptors.

Sports247 was on ground as this year’s Flag Football Showtime Summer Series entered the play-offs stage in the Lekki area of Lagos, and LA Knights’ victory was one of the talking points in the competition that is officially recognised by Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC).

However, Audu stressed that the win margin for her team would have been wider had the whole of LA Knights’ squad been up and doing during the epic game, as the play-off stage of the competition sanctioned by Nigerian Flag Football Federation (NFFF) began at Showtime Arena.

She declared, “We didn’t come to berth … that’s what I can say. When we stepped on the pitch, we didn’t know what started going wrong, and we were just dropping the ball. Our defenders were trying their best to keep us in the game, but the offence didn’t really turn up the way we expected it to.”

She then turned focus on the next game for her side and, while also noting the personal strides she has made in flag football since taking up the game in 2022, Audu declared that LA Knights will do better in their next game.

Salamat stated: “We have to come prepared next week. We don’t want the mistake that happened today to repeat itself. So, next week, we pray that we’ll play better.

“I also want to do well personally. I came into flag football in 2022, and it has been fun. The first year wasn’t really good, but as time went on, I kept improving in my game, and I can say I’m a bit better, compared to when I just started,” Audu recalled.
