The wife of Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noted further that being able to win the African Women’s Senior Basketball Championship (AfroBasket) for five consecutive times and seventh overall makes D’Tigress good ambassadors to improve Nigeria’s international image.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu pointed out: “As ambassadors for sports of our great nation, your victory comes at a time when Nigeria is still basking in the glory of sporting excellence, following the Super Falcons’ recent victory.
“We haven’t even got over that, and we now have this one. But, we are so glad that we are able to also celebrate you as well.”
She went on to affirm that, aside from showing the power to excel that is inherent in Nigerian women, D’Tigress also highlighted how courage and commitment can bring much desired success for any person.
“You have given us another reason to believe in the power of Nigerian women to break barriers and set new records. So, I say weldone to you all. Your performance is highly commendable.
“You embody courage and commitment. I pray that your journey in life will continue to be filled with success and light on the path for many more victories to come,” the president’s wife supplicated.
