Rivers United head coach Finidi George has praised his players’ determination after the Nigerian club sealed qualification to the CAF Champions League group stage with a 3-2 aggregate win over Black Bulls.
Finidi described the result as a “collective achievement,” crediting the players, technical staff and management for their contribution to the team’s success.

“It was a tough game, but the boys showed great character,” Finidi told reporters. “We knew what was at stake and stayed focused from start to finish.”
The former Super Eagles winger said reaching the group stage is an important step for the club but added that greater challenges lie ahead.
“This is a big milestone for us, but we must keep improving if we want to compete with the best,” he said. “Consistency and preparation will be key.”
Rivers United will now turn their attention to the group stage draw, where they hope to continue their impressive run on the continent.
