Finidi George Names 23-Man Squad for Crucial World Cup Qualifiers Against South Africa, Benin Republic

Super Eagles Head Coach Finidi George has announced a 23-man squad set to face South Africa and Benin Republic in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

The squad features a blend of returning stars and fresh faces as Nigeria aims to secure vital points in their campaign.

Among the notable inclusions is goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, making his return to the national team. Remo Stars defender Sadiq Ismael earns his first call-up following impressive performances in the domestic league.

Nigeria will take on South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, June 7, with kick-off scheduled for 8 PM.

Following this, they will travel to Abidjan to face Benin Republic at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny on Monday, June 10, starting at 4 PM local time (5 PM Nigeria time).
