Fikayo Tomori Keeps Hope Alive For World Cup Appearance With England’s Three Lions

AC Milan of Italy’s Nigerian-born defender, Fikayo Tomori is keeping hope alive that he will be part of England’s squad to this year’s FIFA World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.

Sports247 reports that, though the former Chelsea of England centre back has not been in any recent squad list announced by The Three Lions’ German coach, Thomas Tuchel, Tomori insists all hope is not lost.

He recalled a discussion he once had with the former Chelsea gaffer and reasoned further that his current top form with Milan should put him in good stead to be part of the final squad heading to America this summer.

Tomori told The Athletic: “Coach Tuchel and I spoke a few months ago, and he said I’m in the running and that there’s not much to do, just keep moving forward.

“In football and in life, anything can happen. I’m focused on myself, doing my best to help myself, to help Milan. And then, as I said, I hope to be called up.”
