FIFA has relegated Kenyan football club Muhoroni Youth from the second-tier National Super League after finding the team guilty of match-fixing, Sports247 reports.

The decision, made public on Friday, follows investigations by the world football governing body that concluded Muhoroni Youth engaged in activities related to the manipulation of matches and competitions.
Consequently, the club’s senior team has been expelled from the National Super League and demoted to the third-tier Division One League, effective next season.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) confirmed the sanction and expressed full support for FIFA’s ruling.
“FKF fully supports FIFA’s decision and reiterates its zero-tolerance stance on match-fixing and all forms of manipulation that threaten the integrity of the game,” the federation said in a statement.
The ruling comes amid a broader crackdown on match-fixing in Kenyan football. In March, former Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi was suspended over allegations of helping manipulate a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cameroon. Kenya lost the match 4-1 in Yaoundé, severely denting their qualification hopes for the tournament in Morocco.
Five referees were also suspended in connection with the same match-fixing investigation.
The Kenya Institute of Public Policy Research and Analysis, an independent think tank, recently warned that match-fixing has infiltrated all levels of football in the country—from grassroots tournaments to the professional leagues—posing a serious threat to the sport’s credibility.
