FIFA Referees Gear Up For First-Quarter Fitness Test, Badging in Abuja

The Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja is set to host the first-quarter FIFA fitness test for Nigerian international referees on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

This event follows medical tests conducted on the referees the previous day, February 19, 2024.

Mohammed Adebayo Ameenu, the Special Assistant to the NFF General Secretary and Coordinator of Refereeing Development in Nigeria, announced that the 30 Nigerian referees listed for international duty this year will be honoured with their badges at a ceremony inside the NFF/FIFA Goal Project on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

The group of 30 referees comprises seven men referees, seven men assistant referees, four women referees, four women assistant referees, four beach soccer referees, and four futsal referees.

Notably, one of the beach soccer referees, Jelili Ogunmuyiwa, is currently on duty at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
