Nigeria dominated early, leading 22–17 in the first quarter and 21–20 in the second. Despite a third-quarter slump, they bounced back strongly, closing the game with a 23–10 run to secure the win.

Cierra Dillard led Senegal with 27 points, but it wasn’t enough to stop Nigeria’s balanced attack. Ezinne Kalu emerged as Nigeria’s top scorer with 18 points, supported by strong team defense that limited Senegal’s offense in crucial moments.

With this victory, Nigeria moves one step closer to securing its fifth consecutive AfroBasket crown and solidifies its position as a powerhouse in African women’s basketball.

The final is set to take place on Sunday, August 3, 2025, in Abidjan, where Nigeria will face the winner of the second semi-final clash.
