Nigeria’s D’Tigress continued their dominance at the ongoing FIBA Women’s AfroBasket 2025 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, defeating Mozambique 60–55 to secure a spot in the quarterfinals and extend their unbeaten run to 26 games.
In a tightly contested Group D match at the Palais des Sports de Treichville on Monday, the reigning African champions rallied from an early deficit.

The team overturn a 28–24 halftime score to seal victory with strong performances in the final two quarters (18–15 in Q3, 18–12 in Q4).
Murjanatu Musa led the charge for Nigeria, posting a game-high 19 points, while Mozambique’s Leia Dongue stood out for her team with 11 points.
Despite shooting struggles from beyond the arc (13.04% for Nigeria and 20% for Mozambique), D’Tigress showcased resilience, pulling off a 12-0 scoring run in the third quarter to swing momentum in their favor.
With this win, Nigeria tops Group D and advances directly to the quarterfinals, maintaining their quest for a sixth consecutive AfroBasket title.
The D’Tigress will return to action later this week as they aim to continue their impressive unbeaten streak and defend their African crown.
