The team overturn a 28–24 halftime score to seal victory with strong performances in the final two quarters (18–15 in Q3, 18–12 in Q4).

Murjanatu Musa led the charge for Nigeria, posting a game-high 19 points, while Mozambique’s Leia Dongue stood out for her team with 11 points.

Despite shooting struggles from beyond the arc (13.04% for Nigeria and 20% for Mozambique), D’Tigress showcased resilience, pulling off a 12-0 scoring run in the third quarter to swing momentum in their favor.

With this win, Nigeria tops Group D and advances directly to the quarterfinals, maintaining their quest for a sixth consecutive AfroBasket title.

The D’Tigress will return to action later this week as they aim to continue their impressive unbeaten streak and defend their African crown.
