FIAN set to produce 1m free facemasks for Nigerians

The war against the ravaging coronavirus pandemic continues across the world, with several creative actions and methods to combat the killer virus. And with its attendant effects on world football, groups, individuals and football clubs are definitely, not left out of the fight to defeat covid-19.

In a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of FIAN, Kelvin Irikefe, it reaffirmed its unflinching commitments to contributing its own towards ensuring a better and secured world.

In that regards and also in line with its corporate social responsibility initiatives, the Football Intermediaries Association of Nigeria (FIAN) have concluded arrangements for the production and launch one million locally produced facemasks for nationwide distribution free to less privileged Nigerians, especially at the grassroots football level.

At the online launch of the phone which was proactively held last week, ahead of government’s stipulation for compulsory facemasks, the designs and funding for an initial production of 10,000 pieces by a reputable tailoring line were unveiled for delivery within a week.

Speaking on behalf of the association, FIAN Chairman, Ayodele Thomas, said: “members are delighted to make their humble contributions in assisting to keeping our people safe and reduce spread of the pandemic.

He continued “FIAN is committed to meeting the 100000,000 facemasks target. And we are soliciting supports from well meaning Nigerians, corporate bodies and well placed individuals in the state of sector, as well as the government, in ensuring we deliver the facemasks as our means of palliatives to the football people at the grassroots level, who we consider as the most vulnerable,” he stated.
