Former Super Eagles midfielder, Femi Ajilore has urged players in Nigeria’s current squad to try their possible best in order to win the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations as a consolation for their fans, Sports247 reports.
While acknowledging that nothing can match the pain of failing to reach the FIFA World Cup for the second straight edition, the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games silver medalist conceded that the only thing left now is for the players to give their fans a consolation.

The dark-skinned lad, Ebenezer Oluwafemi Ajilore from Osu in Osun State retorted, “The Nations Cup is obviously different from the World Cup, and they have their own varying values. They can’t even be compared.
“However, in as much as we can’t make up for missing the World Cup, winning the Nations Cup can be a consolation for football loving Nigerians who wanted to see our team at the World Cup.”
The lanky former player, who is now a fledgling football administrator and promoter in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), urged the Eagles to put in their very best to ensure they win a fourth title for Nigeria.
“If only our players can go all out and give their very best efforts in Morocco, it would be a big consolation for them, and Nigerians will be proud of them,” Ajilore projected.
