Female Supporter, Esther Tijani, Gifts Nasarawa United Players Fifty Travel Sanitary Handbags

A staunch female supporter of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Nasarawa United, Miss Esther Tijani, took her love for the Solid Miners to a distinctive height after she donated fifty customized sanitary travel handbags to the players as part of her contribution to the Lafia-based Club.

The vociferous and unrepentant supporter who hasn’t hidden her admiration for the Club presented the kits to the players a few minutes before the commencement of the NPFL matchday two clashes between Nasarawa United versus Gombe United at the Lafia City Stadium on Boxing Day.

It’s not the first gesture the Lafia-based Taraba State-born business lady would be extending to the team. During the Club’s pre-season tour of Abuja in November 2021, Esther Tijani gifted teenage sensation, Nentaka Bangs, an expensive pair of football boots, stating she was moved to encourage the boy’s career after shining at the tour.

She told Nasarawa United Media that she would do more for the team in the future, adding that supporting a team goes beyond only wishing it to win, but giving both moral and physical support to help it succeed.

Esther, together with her long-time ally, Aisha Salihu, have repeatedly demonstrated their unalloyed support to the Solid Miners, including sponsoring themselves to watch the team play, and are a popular figure across match venues in Nigeria.

She is known to be the first female supporter to extend such huge benevolence to the Club.

Pleased with the act, Chairman of Nasarawa United, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi thanked the benefactor for her magnanimity and urged others to emulate her footsteps.

“We are overwhelmed by the action of Esther(Ms) who has further shown what it means to truly be a Club supporter.

“She has been our vocal supporter and everyone can notice how she goes about this, whether during our home or away games.

“We need more of her type in our Supporters’ Club.

“On behalf of everyone in the team, I wish to send our heartfelt gratitude to her and encourage her to sustain the tempo.

“May I also use this medium to call on other well-to-do individuals to follow her path as we continue to work round the clock to get things right for our darling club.”
