Nigeria’s senior men’s rugby team, the Stallions, have secured a place in the quarter-finals of the ongoing Africa Men’s Sevens Rugby Nations Cup, currently taking place on the picturesque island of Mauritius.

After a challenging group stage campaign, the Stallions displayed resilience and determination to qualify for the knockout rounds, setting up a mouthwatering clash against Kenya’s Shujaa in the quarter-finals.

The Stallions began their journey with a tough opening fixture against continental giants, the Blitzboks of South Africa. Despite falling 17–5, the Nigerian side showed commendable spirit and flashes of brilliance that hinted at their potential.

In their final group match, Nigeria narrowly lost 14–7 to Zambia in a tightly contested battle, but their earlier efforts were enough to see them through to the last eight.
