African Chief scout of FDC Vista Mr. Paul Ojo Omamomo hosted a delegation of scouts from FDC Vista to Nigeria last week. FDC Vista is a Russian based football training and development center that develops players and markets to top European clubs.
The club officials which included the CEO of FDC Vista Mr. Tiagran Mkrtchian, Nikita Poliakov (club scout), Aleksandr Bovharnikov (FDC Visat scout), Artem Oganysyan (Scout), Elena Gorskaia (scout), and Dmitrill Churkin (Scout) arrived in Nigeria on the 13th of July.
Mr. Ojo Paul while speaking to reporters explained that the aim of the scouting program is to provide opportunities for Nigerian players, he said “We have many talented players in Nigeria but very few opportunity, that is why I take it upon myself to bring my partners every year to Nigeria to scout for talents.”
The program which last two long weeks started from Ikenne, Ogun State home to Remo Stars Football Club where the program was first hosted. Over 10 football clubs around Ogun state were in participation at the Remo Stars center.
On the 15th of July the scouts arrived Uyo, Akwa Ibom where they started the scouting tournament with participation of top clubs within Akwa Ibom as well as clubs from other neighbouring states, in participation were FC One Rocket, Blessed Stars Football Academy, Carabana Football Academy, Hope of Glory, Giant Brillars FC, Sporting FC and other clubs. The program was hosted at the prestigious Godswill Akpabio international stadium. The selected players chosen by the scouts on the last day played a friendly game with Akwa United FC which ended in a 1-1 draw.
The scouts also visited Abuja where the program was hosted at the FIFA Goal Project.
The African Chief Scout of FDC Vista Mr. Ojo Paul noted that in all the centres visited only 10 top players will be selected to travel to Russia for education and football development. The selected players will be given full scholarship to study and play football in Russia.
This scouting program has been considered as the best scouting program in the country as awarded by the Youths Sports Association of Nigeria.
The Chief Scout of FDC Vista Mr. Ojo Paul Omamomo has promised to continue hosting scouting programs like this and bringing his partners to come scout for top players in Nigeria.
While speaking to Mr. Ojo Paul Omamomo he expressed his appreciation to some of his host saying ,“I want to thank Hon. Kunle Soname, Chairman of Remo Stars for the hospitality he gave us, Hon. Nse Essien (Indomitable), Chairman of FC One Rocket for his hospitality and support while we were in Uyo while making sure the youths of Akwa Ibom maximize the opportunities they have, Special thanks to Chief Collins Edwin Ossy for always standing up for any youth development program, my special thanks also goes to the Nigeria football federation for allowing us to use their facility at the FIFA Goal Project at Abuja, Special thanks to the President of the Federation and Technical Director Mr. Austin Aguaveon.”
The selected players are expected to travel before August 30th while visa documentation is currently in progress.
