FCAAN TRAINING: LADAN BOSSO CHARGES COACHES ON SELF DEVELOPMENT

President, Nigeria Football Coaches Association, NFCA, Ladan Bosso has called on Coaches to always go extra mile to develop themselves and not wait for their Clubs or government to send them on training courses.

Coach Bosso said this while addressing Participants at the ongoing Football Coaches Association of Africa Nations, FCAAN D Diploma course in Akure, Ondo state.

The NFCA President said though Coaches have the right to be sent on training courses by their Clubs, while Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, must intensify efforts at developing football Coaches, however, Coaches should not wait for clubs and government to sponsor them.

Coach Bosso said massive investment in the education of football Coaches would go a long way at developing the nation’s football.

“There is no way you will develop football without developing the Coaches, as this is the bedrock of football development and if you look at this training course, most of these Coaches sponsored themselves and not by their clubs or state FAs” the NFCA boss said.

He stated that Nigeria Football Coaches Association had signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU with FCAAN on ways to train Coaches, disclosing that the first of such refresher courses is coming up at the end of the current NPFL season.

“FCAAN courses are given recognition by NFCA, and at the executive level of NFCA, we don’t joke with training of Coaches, we can only be comfortable when we have Coaches who are educated” Coach Bosso added.

He commended FCAAN for offering courses that were in tune with an ideal situation in terms of modern techniques of coaching and at the long run, very related to Africa system of coaching.

Coach Bosso, a CAF “A” licence Coach, also, lectured the FCAAN D Diploma Participants on importance of writing Technical Reports and having Code of Conduct for their Players.

The FCAAN D Diploma course, which began last monday will be coming to an end today with presentation of FCAAN D Certificates to the Participants.
