Nigeria secured an impressive 52-run victory over Malawi to kick-start their campaign on a positive note.
“It was a great team effort from everyone,” Eseigbe said.
According to the Nigerian captain, the victory was achieved through determination, resilience and the collective effort of the entire squad.
“The players showed a lot of fighting spirit throughout the game,” she implied.
Eseigbe admitted that Nigeria faced challenges during their batting innings as Malawi’s bowlers made life difficult for the Female Yellow-Greens.
“It was not an easy batting performance for us,” she noted.
However, the skipper praised the team for adapting to the situation and finding solutions when under pressure.
“We adjusted well and found a way to compete,” she added.
Eseigbe revealed that despite the difficulties with the bat, the players remained confident heading into the fielding phase.
“We believed we could defend whatever total we managed to score,” she stressed.
The captain also commended the coaching staff for their support and guidance throughout the contest.
“The coaches played an important role in helping us stay focused,” she said.
Nigeria’s strong bowling and fielding performance ultimately helped secure a comfortable victory over Malawi.
“The result highlights the growing confidence within the team,” many cricket observers believe.
The Female Yellow-Greens continue their quest for success at the tournament as they prepare for tougher challenges ahead.
For Favour Eseigbe, the message is clear.
Team spirit made the difference.
Resilience helped Nigeria overcome difficulties.
And the Female Yellow-Greens remain focused on building momentum in Kigali.
Because successful teams are often defined by their ability to stay united and respond positively under pressure.
