Fans Violence: Wikki Tourists Get Approval To Return Home

Wikki Tourists of Bauchi will return to their home ground, the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium after the LMC has approved their request.

The Giant Elephants were banished to Kaduna for a few weeks after their supporters went on a rampage on Enyimba following a goalless draw in their matchday 19 fixture.

The LMC in the letter addressed to Wikki Tourists’ management said, they were satisfied that the Bauchi club has considerably served their punishments including playing four home matches in Kaduna, and have also provided adequate match day security framework from the Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Police.

The letter reads:

“Wikki Tourists have been granted provisional approval to resume hosting of NPFL games at their Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium home ground after providing a letter of stadium Matchday security plan from the Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Police.

LMC noted in a letter conveying the reprieve that Wikki Tourists have complied substantially with the sanctions including playing four home matches in Kaduna.”

The Bauchi-based club has been on a poor run lately, winning just one out of their last five matches and placed 11th on the NPFL table with 38 points.
