Scorer of the Super Falcons’ second goal in Sunday’s 3-0 spanking of Tunisia at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Rinsola Babajide has positioned the Nigerian squad as likely wininers of the competition, once they improve during each match, Sports247 reports.
The former Liverpool Ladies of England attacker, who now plays for Tenerife Femenino of Spain, acknowledged that she was truly delighted after scoring her first Falcons’ goal, and admitted that she is already thinking of winning the trophy in Morocco.

The former England youth international added, “It’s a big relief, more than anything, for me. I’ve had a few appearances and got some assists, but I was always missing my first goal.
“So, I’m happy to get that out of the way finally. I’m also happy that I was able to contribute towards our win in such a big tournament.”
While confessing that she would love to win the new trophy that Confederation of African Football (CAF) has put on offer at the competition officially tagged Maroc 2024, Babajide added that she and her colleagues must not take their feet off the pedal.
“To win the trophy is our major target here. It’s a new trophy and we really want it. Game-by-game, we’ll try and improve.
“We’ll try and get a better performance for each game. So, it’s possible that we can win it,” Babajide affirmed.
The dark skinned left footed winger-cum-striker, who now has six caps with the Falcons, is still hogging headlines after dedicating her goal to Liverpool’s late attacker, Diogo Jota, who died last Thursday along with his younger brother in a car accident.
Photographs have gone vital of Babajide celebrating her goal in the same sitting posture with legs crossed and fingers on an imaginary playstation, as Jota used to do during his edifying days with The Reds of Anfield.
