The secretary-general of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr Mohammed Sanusi insists the country’s female national team, Super Falcons, are well motivated ahead of their clash with South Africa at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Sports247 reports that a cross-section of Nigerian football fans has raised alarm over alleged poor welfare conditions the Falcons are facing in Casablanca, Morocco, where they will play Banyana Banyana in the semi-finals on Tuesday.

Critics believe the Falcons are not well motivated by the NFF to win WAFCON 2024, but Sanusi insists the squad is in the mood for victory on Tuesday, and added that they are only thinking of winning the trophy.
Speaking against the backdrop of the Falcons’ amazing 5-0 smashing of Zambia in their quarter-finals fixture on Friday, Mohammed Sanusi stressed that Coach Justin Madugu’s side has nothing to complain about and praised the players for staying focused on their matches.
The NFF’s scribe expatiated, “If a team travels to an event and you did not hear any outcry from them and there is no complaint, you should know that they are well motivated.
“There is no complaint from this team. That shows they are focused on each match, and they are ready to win.”
Sanusi then looked at the Falcons’ impending clash with the defending champions, South Africa, as well as the prospect of playing hosts Morocco in the final, both of which he believes would be epic encounters.
“South Africa has a very strong team, and Morocco also has a very strong team. Therefore, it’s a fight of the titans in all our remaining matches.
“At the end of 90 minutes, only one winner will emerge from each game, and we hope it will be our team,” Sanusi enthused.
Incidentally, South Africa reached the semi-finals via penalties on Saturday, as the holders dumped hard fighting Senegal 4-1, following a 0-0 end to regulation time.
