FA Cup Hero Kalu Sets Eyes On Continental Football Next Season

Samuel Kalu shoots Enyimba Football Club of Aba to triumphed over state rivals Abia Warriors to emerge champions of Abia State FA cup.

The People’s Elephant, along with thier challengers will represent thier state in the Federation’s Aiteo Cup later this year. The only goal scorer in the encounter, Samuel Kalu has expressed hopes that he, along with his teammates is not satisfied with just a state FA cup.

Putting the pedigree of the Aba based club into consideration, Samuel Kalu has said that the team will target finishing in top 3 as the dream of Representing Nigeria in continental level is still very much alive.

As it stands, Enyimba Football Club of Aba might not make it to continental level next season unless they pull massive results along the way in the NPFL or win the federation’s FA Cup “The only aim is for us to go to the continent so that’s the target for this season and it’s 4 matches to go, we will keep on working harder and see what will happen. If we can’t finish 3rd, we will go all out to win the national FA cup so we will be in the continent. That’s the target.’ Kalu concluded.

Enyimba currently sit on 6th position having just 4 matches to the end of the current season. With 51 points, they are just two points away from continental actions and below Remo Stars, Enugu Rangers and Kwara United in 3rd 4th and 5th respectively.
