Ezekiel Nathaniel Finishes Eighth as Alison Dos Santos Dominates Brussels Diamond League Final

Nigeria’s national record holder Ezekiel Nathaniel finished eighth in the men’s 400m hurdles at the Brussels Diamond League Final, clocking 48.37 seconds in a highly competitive field.

Dos Santos stormed to victory in a meeting-record time of 46.70 seconds, leaving the rest of the field trailing by more than a second. His commanding display underlined his status as one of the leading forces in the 400m hurdles.

American Trevor Bassitt finished a distant second in 48.03 seconds, more than 1.3 seconds behind the Brazilian winner, while Nathaniel crossed the line in eighth position with his 48.37-second effort.

For Nathaniel, the Brussels appearance provides another opportunity to compete at the highest level and measure himself against the world’s elite 400m hurdlers.

The Nigerian has continued to establish himself as one of the country’s leading track and field athletes, with his national-record status highlighting his progress in the event.

Although he could not replicate his best performances in Brussels, Nathaniel’s presence in the Diamond League Final represents another significant step in his development on the international stage.

Meanwhile, Dos Santos’ remarkable 46.70-second run will stand as the defining performance of the race, as the Brazilian comfortably separated himself from the chasing pack to claim the Diamond League Final title in emphatic fashion.
