Ezechukwu Continues Rise with Dominant Sprint Display in Jos

Miracle Oluebube Ezechukwu underlined her growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s brightest young sprint talents with a commanding performance in the U20 women’s 100m at the MTN Champs in Jos.

The teenage sensation cruised to victory in her heat, clocking an impressive 11.55s (+0.4) — the second-fastest time of her career.

Notably, Ezechukwu decelerated well before the finish line, highlighting her clear dominance and suggesting there is even more speed in reserve as the competition progresses.

Her teammate, Adaeze Ezeh, finished second in the heat with a time of 12.16s, completing a strong outing for their training group.

Ezechukwu’s performance in Jos adds to what has already been a remarkable year for the young sprinter. Earlier in the season, she made headlines on the continental stage by emerging as the African School 200m Champion at the Secondary School Games in Algiers.

Representing Nigerian Tulip International School, Abuja, she stormed to gold in the 200m with a new Personal Best of 23.40s, leading a Nigerian 1–2 finish in the event. Her schoolmate and training partner, Chigozie Rosemary Nwankwo, claimed silver with a time of 24.04s.

Interestingly, the roles were reversed in the 100m at the same competition, where Nwankwo took gold while Ezechukwu finished second — further emphasizing the healthy rivalry and depth of talent within their camp.

With her current form, consistency, and evident room for improvement, Ezechukwu is fast emerging as a future star for Nigeria on the track.

As she advances through the rounds in Jos, attention will be firmly on whether she can lower her times even further and continue her impressive upward trajectory.
