Excellent Football Club Academy CEO Onome James has revealed his excitement over the abridged league format as he extols the interim management committee efforts to get the league started despite all troubles.
The Delta State based academy CEO admitted that many have thought that the league won’t hold again this year due to so many irregularities but he’s glad that the IMC were able to make it work.
“I am very happy looking towards the NPFL kicking off on the 8th January. It’s been a long time that we have been clamoring for the league kick-off, some didn’t believe it will start but some stood firm that it will begin,” he told Sports247.ng in an exclusive interview.
“Congratulations to the IMC, they have done so much within a little period of time, they decided to put things in order to make sure the league Kicks-off on the 8th January which I feel the abridged league is the best and only solution.”
Our Nigerian league kicking off in that format is the best right now, I’m looking forward to go to various centres as I used to do to go and see live matches,” Onome happily stated.
“It’s our league and we have to follow it up because from there, you can see the best of our players. I appreciate the IMC members, the NFF, kudos to the new board for standing firm on thier decisions.”
