EX NIGERIAN ENVOY PREDICTS PROMOTION FOR SHOOTING STARS

The Chairman, Governing Concil of the Ibadan City Polytechnic (ICP), Ambassador (Dr) Yemi Farounmbi, has predicted a successdul campaign for the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan in the 2019/20 season of the Nigerian National League (NNL).

Addressing the management and the players of 3SC when the school hosted the Oluyole Warriors on Tuesday, Ambassador Farounmbi, a former Nigerian ambassador to the Philippines, said the Ibadan soccer lords, have what it takes to stage a return to the mainstream of the Nigerian league this season.

In his inspirarional and passionate address, Chief Farounmbi, described Shooting Stars as not only the pride of the west but the entire Nigeria.

The former bigwig of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA, went down memory lane, revealing how Shooting Stars brought honours to the country with their exploits on the continental scene as well as producing quality players for every category of the Nigerian national teams.

He urged the management, technical crew and the present crop of the Shooting Stars players to be poisitive minded as they get ready to kick start their campiagn for a return to the elite league.

“You are Shooting Stars, you must believe in yourself, believe that nothing is impossible. We are partnering with you becuase you are giants and in ICP, we believe in God, so you must believe that God is with you”, said Dr Farounmbi.
