‘Everyone Is To Blame’ Oguh Points Fingers — Players and NFF Share Responsibility For World Cup Failure

Former Super Eagles player John Oguh has declared that both the Nigeria Football Federation and the players must take responsibility for Nigeria’s failure to qualify for back-to-back FIFA World Cups.

Speaking candidly on the issue, Oguh rejected the idea of placing blame on one side alone, insisting that the shortcomings were collective.

“Everyone has a part to play,” he said.

According to the former midfielder, the NFF has not done enough in terms of administration, particularly when it comes to building strong structures that support the national team.

“They haven’t done enough,” he implied.

However, Oguh was equally critical of the players, suggesting that they must also be held accountable for performances on the pitch.

“The players must fight harder,” he noted.

For him, representing Nigeria should come with a level of commitment and intensity that leaves no room for excuses.

“It’s about pride,” he stressed.

Oguh’s comments reflect a balanced but firm assessment of the situation, highlighting the need for both administrative reform and improved performances from the squad.

He believes that without addressing both aspects, Nigeria risks repeating the same mistakes in future competitions.

“We must improve everywhere,” he added.

The failure to qualify has sparked widespread debate about the state of Nigerian football, with calls for change growing louder.

As the country looks ahead, Oguh’s message serves as a reminder that success requires effort at every level.

Because in football, results are never accidental.

They are the product of preparation, structure, and commitment.

And when any of those elements fall short, the consequences are clear.
