EuroMatch NPFL: Rangers Dominate, Pillars Fire Four! Matchday 4 Delivers Big Wins

EuroMatch Nigeria Professional Football League Matchday 4 delivered another entertaining round of fixtures, with defending champions Rangers International recording a statement away victory, while Kano Pillars, Abia Warriors and Inter Lagos also secured important wins across the country.

Sports247 reports that in one of the biggest results of the weekend, Rangers International defeated Kun Khalifat FC 4-2 away from home in a thrilling encounter.

T. Folarin opened the scoring for Rangers in the 28th minute before Waheed Adebayo doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time. Kun Khalifat responded strongly, but Rangers regained control late in the contest through I. Chimobi, who struck in the 87th minute before completing his brace deep into stoppage time at 90+4.

The result represents a massive away win for the defending champions as they continue their campaign.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars produced one of the weekend’s most convincing performances, defeating Doma United 4-1. Abdullahi Musa opened the scoring in the 19th minute before Rabiu Ali doubled the advantage in the 32nd minute.

Doma United pulled one back in the 53rd minute to give themselves hope, but Ahmed Musa restored Kano Pillars’ two-goal advantage in the 77th minute. Nasiru Salihu then completed the scoring in the 90th minute to seal a comprehensive victory.

Abia Warriors also claimed a valuable away victory after defeating Sporting Lagos 2-0. The visitors took the lead in the 83rd minute before Chukwumeka Obioma produced a lovely finish in the 90th minute to make sure of all three points.

At Lafia, Nasarawa United fought back to earn a 1-1 draw against Rivers United. Rivers United moved ahead in the 68th minute through an own goal by Harrison Ebah, but Nasarawa United responded from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute, with Musa Yakubu converting to rescue a point.

Earlier on Saturday, Ikorodu City and Barau FC played out a goalless draw in Lagos in a highly entertaining contest, with the visitors securing what proved to be a valuable point on the road.

Ranchers Bees came from behind to defeat Bendel Insurance 2-1. Jude Okorie headed Ranchers Bees into the lead in the 52nd minute from Samson Marvelous’ cross, before Lekan Gabriel equalised for the Benin Arsenals in the 65th minute.

Zilkifilu Mohammed eventually settled the contest in the 80th minute with a powerful strike to hand Ranchers Bees all three points.

Katsina United also recorded a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, with Abdulrahman Garba’s first-half goal proving decisive.

Warri Wolves completed the weekend’s action with a 1-0 victory over Kwara United in Ozoro, securing their first win of the season in a closely contested encounter.
